Data Centre Shell & Core, Wiltshire

Sector: Commercial
Service: Design & Build
Location: Wiltshire
Value: £5,000,000
Duration: 52 weeks

The Project Background

H Sweet & Sons were contracted to deliver the construction of over 60,000m2 of floor space, ranging from high security data storage to new ancillary offices and welfare.

Our Approach

Working closely with our Client's Designers, we took a proactive approach to advice, including advising on cost effective design interpretation, programme and feasibility savings and long term durability of the proposed installations. Difficult ground conditions, including working over an existing mine and restrictions over the use of percussive piling led H Sweet to redesign the initial substructure scheme, which included rainwater harvesting technology and ecological mitigation measures. The superstructure design was revised to ensure no loss of aesthetic or function, but was delivered to ensure the most cost and time efficient method of construction.

The Outcome

The building was completed on time and budget, demonstrating H Sweet’s commitment to working proactively and collaboratively to ensure Client satisfaction at all times.
